Wisconsin has a new Snow Conditions and Winter Activities Portal
Governor Walker’s Wisconsin Tourism Office has recently launched a new web portal with unique partnerships with a number of tourism-related websites. The interactive promotional that appears on these partnership websites allows the viewer to get a thumbnail preview of Wisconsin country snow conditions for three favorite winter activities: downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling. The preview changes if the viewer clicks on one of the three activity icons. Try this out on the promotional below. Click on the downhill skier icon and you’ll see a thumbnail county-by-county report of snow conditions for downhill skiing, click on the icon for cross county skier, you’ll see the report of snow conditions for xc skiing, and click on the snowmobile icon you’ll see a county-by-county report of snow conditions for snowmobile trails.
Then click on “Plan Your Winter Getaway” or elsewhere in the graphic and you’ll be redirected to Wiscconsin’s Winter Snow and Activities Portal. Here you can drill down for more detailed information in each county. There are also links to other activities, dining spots, accommodations, and special events going on. There are also links to maps and guides, road conditions reports, and other winter travel planning tools.
