Visiting the Chiefland Quilt Museum

The Levy County Quilt Museum, in rural Chiefland, is more than a museum of antique quilts and sewing machines. Sprinkled among the quilts for sale by local quilters, are other uniquely crafted items. It is a great outlet for unique handcrafted gifts by Florida artisans.

The museum also serves as a quilting supplies outlet, offering fabric, quilting supplies, etc., many of which have been donated by quilters leaving portions of their estate to the museum.

Each year on our annual winter escape to Chiefland, Florida we make it a ritual to visit the Quilt Musuem at least once during our stay. The exhibits are always changing and there’s always new and interesting crafted items for sale in the shop. There’s plenty of interesting things to see even if a person isn’t a quilter. And if you are a husband of quilter drug along for the ride, the Museum offers a terrific selection of “husband chairs” on the expansive front porch, where you can enjoy a serene rural setting among the sounds of birds and the floating butterflies.

Great selection of seating opportunities for husband’s drug along to the museum:-)
