RV Camping Gratiot, Wisconsin

An exceptional RV campground in SW Wisconsin

Some RVers visiting the collection of quaint and historic cheese producing communities along Wisconsin Highway 11 from Dubuque, IA to Monroe, Wisconsin may need a good overnight camping spot along the route. If that is you check out this neat little campground in the tiny village of Gratiot, Wisconsin

Review: Wolf Creek Campground, Gratiot, WI

The Village campground offers 24 sites with level parking pads, picnic table, fire rings and electric/water hookups. There are also 10 sites without utilities. Sites will accommodate tents or RVs. 2023 rates are $20/nite with hookups and $15/nite w/o hookups. The sites are First Come, First Served so you have a chance to get a site at the last minute.

Nice spacing, decent sized sites, and some with shade

If you have kids, there is a small playground within the park.

Complimenting the campground is a clean, modern washroom with 4 separate unisex shower (including one that is handicap access) in addition to the mens and womens washroom.

Wolf Creek Washroom and Bath House

The Wolf Creek trout stream runs adjacent to the campground and flows into the Pecatonica River a short distance away. It looks to me like you could put your canoe in the creek and float into the Pecatonica.

Also adjacent to the campground is the Cheese Country Multi-use Recreational Trail. It runs from Mineral Point to Monroe and is used by ATVs, motorcycles, horseback riding in the summer and snowmobiling and skiing in the winter.

Nearby Attractions

Within walking distance of the campground is a convenience store/gas station, a city park with a pavilion and baseball diamond, and a decent bar and cafe where my wife Jo and I had a terrific breakfast omelette with a huge serving of hashbrowns. Rocks Pour House (in the old Nixon House Inn) shows its age on the outside but inside it is clean, comfortable, and offers great food with decent prices and friendly service. We’ll have to catch their Friday Fish Fry one of these evenings.
