The American RV industry loves adding slide-outs to increase the amount of interior space available in a travel trailer. While the design concept adds available space, it also adds another important maintenance responsibility and a source of mechanical problems. That deficiency, among others, narrowed our search for a compact couples RV trailer. Most no-slide compact units employ a murphy bed that by day is a couch in a living room setup while at night folds down into a bed.
Rpod 205 Travel Trailer
After looking at several murphy bed models of compact couples travel trailers, we ended up buying an R-pod 205 from Cheyenne Camping Center in Walcott, Iowa. There were four strong features that helped us make this decision.
- Instead of the Murphy Bed, it has a dedicated bedroom with a walk around RV Queen bed.
- In the living area it has a twin set of theatre-style recliners that don’t disappear when a murphy bed is pulled down.
- Instead of a breakfast bar with stools, it has a comfortable two person dinette set.
- The galley has a super-spacious L-shaped kitchen counter.
