About Us

Greetings,

We’re Ross and Joanne and we love scenic travel, exploring new places, and having fun in the out of doors – camping, hiking, biking, snowshoeing to name a few of our favorites. We’re former tent campers and wilderness canoeing explorers who now travel and explore in a bit more comfort – in our Winnebago Rialta RV.

We enjoy finding and exploring scenic drives and scenic places, generally away from urban environments and crowded places. While our travel guides of scenic roads and interesting destinations are relevant to automobile travelers or people looking to fly by plane to interesting destinations, a good deal of our content is most relevant to camping and RVing. So we include profiles on campgrounds we like and regions that offer recreational and travel attractions campers and RVers often look for.

Many of the destinations we feature offer worthwhile hiking trails with scenic vistas and interesting natural features (like waterfalls). In addition to hiking and scenic travel, one of our favorite recreational pursuits is golfing – so you’ll find an occasional golf course profile among our articles, with particular attention to courses that are suitable for walking.

Many of our trips and scenic places have also been profiled in another website – Superior Trails Lake Superior Circle Tour. As the name implies it features travel around the largest freshwater lake in the world – Lake Superior. While in ScenicPathways we may post an article on a noteworthy drive or destination around Lake Superior, our main focus will be on scenic drives and interesting places elsewhere across the United States.
